The news making rounds on Facebook that foreign students attending further education colleges are to be banned from working in Britain under a fresh crackdown on immigration ordered by the new British Prime Minister Theresa May is absolutely false.
The news went further to quote that “Official figures show that 121,000 non-EU students entered the UK in the 12 months to June last year, but only 51,000 left – a net influx of 70,000.
The government estimates that the number of foreign students coming to the UK will rise by more than 6 per cent a year up to 2020.” and that when courses finish they will have to leave the country before reapplying to return for a job.”
The above in its entirety including the statistics is actually a July 2015 news when Mrs May was the Home secretary, this policy had been in effect since then albeit in a modified version.
As British PM, Mrs May has not given any directive as being currently bandied around on some blogs and social media.
